Kings Lynn Heritage Day

Today saw a special event take place in Kings Lynn celebrating the towns heritage and a chance to visit some of its historic buildings, gardens and other attractions specially organised for the day. This included a vintage bus service for visitors to see more of what the surrounding areas had to offer. A half hourly service from the Bus Station was provided with help from the Eastern Transport collection and Bristol OVF229.

Other vehicles in use were former London Transport AEC RT JXC149 and recently restored Bedford SB EJD510 belonging to Towlers of Emneth. One vehicle making its first public appearance was Lynxbus Leyland National UFX852S, formerly with Konectbus it has had an external overhaul with new panels fitted and been repainted into its new allover red livery as well as gaining a new set of White  blinds. It passed its MOT on Thursday and today it was used as a static exhibit in the Bus Station as some internal work is required before it will be used in service again.

152 will see use on school contracts, rail replacement duties as well as straying onto normal duties if required. It certainly looks the part and a credit to Julian Patterson and his team for the transformation.

Other news from Lynx sees Optare Tempos 7 & 8 returning from their loan spell with Simonds, Tempo 10 ( PF10MHM) has also been recently repainted into fleet livery and was in use today on service 35.
